ULID Payment Information
EXPLANATION OF ULID PAYMENTS FOR JBWD ULID#1 (LANDS HILL)
With the Juniper Beach Water District ULID for the Land’s Hill project, there have been several instances of escrow or mortgage companies paying the full amount of the total ULID owed instead of the semi-annual payment.
To clarify for those looking up information on-line at www.islandcounty.net via their Island County Property Data and Tax Information On-Line link, please note the following:
The original assessment was for $9,859.75
The Juniper Beach ULID will ALWAYS be noted on a *2012 Statement Details line.
For 2012, there were 2 Statement Details line items: one refers to property taxes and the other to the ULID.
If you look under Statement Details, the *2012 refers to the ULID. The ULID amount due will decrease as payments are received.
What may be confusing is that the Statement Details shows the TOTAL amount due in the Second Half Base Amt. column.
If the mortgage/tax service companies are confused as to which item refers to the property taxes, they can contact the Island County Treasurer’s office and anyone can assist them.
If there is only one outstanding balance, then it probably refers to the ULID balance outstanding. Again, anyone can contact the Island county Treasurer’s office for confirmation.
Details of the ULID are as follows:
JBWD Resolution No. 07-01-12/3 approved the final assessment roll for ULID No. 1, and such assessment roll was sent to Island County for collection.
At that time, all or any portion of an assessment could be paid within 30 days from July 24, 2012 without penalty, interest or costs.
Thereafter, the assessment remaining unpaid would then be paid in 42 equal semi-annual installments plus interest on the unpaid amount at a rate of 1.5% per annum.
Installments were payable on September 30, 2012 and on each March 31 and September 30 thereafter.
After August 23, 2012, any owner has the opportunity to pay the entire assessment remaining unpaid with interest to the date of the installment next falling due.
Installments not paid when due shall be assessed a penalty of 10%.
We sincerely hope this clears things up for everyone.
